Last week I had my first solo college visit. It was to a community college in Merseyside. Thanks to a combination of a temperamental SATNAV system and my lack of map reading skills, I managed to arrive half an hour late. When I got there it turned out to be a good meeting. The person I was meeting was also new to the post which helped and meant we both had lots of ideas and things to discuss. One of the resources we discussed was eXe which I am seem to be recommending more and more as a really user friendly tool to create web content that can be easily incorporated into VLEs. Today I had an opportunity to visit a specialist college in Lancaster where our accessibility advisor is based. As well as my guided tour I had the chance to discuss their ideas about developing an eportfolio system. The main problem I find with eportfolios is that there are so many different definitions of what constitutes an eportfolio. Over the next few weeks I will try to find the time to find out more about the various systems out there.
